Must

Tonight I caught up with some YITS people. Some big stuff was shared by someone and a call was made by one of us to really seek God on it – not just ‘pray for the person’, and he came through. We finished up with praying and I felt this almighty urgency to do it all again – really, really strange as this is not something I would normally do and would at least have given it the ‘should I – shouldn’t I’ treatment, so I told Elyce – I couldn’t not tell someone. We ended up praying again and God had more to say, it was important. The whole thing was very strange indeed. I am still not sure if I was motivated primarily out of fear of stuff shared or it was just all God, perhaps it can be both?

wow bec, that sounds really exciting!

not just ‘pray for the person’

My friend and I have this thing, that the phrase “just pray about it” is the answer to everything. Whenever we have a crisis and we go to people for help, the super-spiritual response is “just pray about it”.. Now it’s not that I disagree with prayer, but I think that sometimes we need to take action! I am a firm believer in prayer changing things, and also the scripture that says that when two or three are gathered God will be in the midst of them. It’s so easy to say, “just pray about it” and walk away from the situation and not give them another thought. Hmmm.. yeah just random thoughts I wanted to share, perhaps I’ll blog about this one day…

by the whole ‘not just pray about it’ I meant in relation to listening to what God might have to say… which in a way I guess is praying, just not our typical ‘Hey God, theres this thing…’
