I love the way, when the people he meets are lost for words, he says, "Yes, I'm an anthropomorphic personification," as though that was obviously the thing that they were trying to say. Like so many fantasy characters, he's a window on humanity, simply by not being human and trying to understand what he sees. Very cool character...
