Coffee Table

skid-coffee-table-marie-claireFor the past while I have been shopping around for a coffee table. I’s feel unethical spending $1,000+ on a table as well as finding it somewhat ridiculous and am still hesitant to spluge even $500. I’ll pay $300 but thus far to no avail – I am after something fairly light in colour, real wood and wouldn’t mind a magazine shelf. I am getting sick of furniture shops, and I like furniture shops! So this is my next solution. Anyone have a spare pallet lying around? Or at least another idea?

…gosh it’s mad, I really do want one. I’ll buy a proper one when I’m old, loaded and forgetful of my conscience.

*Idea from Eco-DIY

Ah! And here is another one… slightly more refined.

Rebecca, remember your upbringing! Cheap is good free is better! Perfectly good coffee tables at op shops , garage sales and auction houses for well under $100(try Croydon Auction house) Our nice pine coffee table cost $20 at market and has served us well Try ebay {heaps) and trading post. Not all are secondhand

Tim might know where you could find one, otherwise try timber yards.

Love the pallet idea. You’ll need to find a small one, or find a bigger loungeroom!

Well I think the less refined one out of those two is way better, you must make one!

  5. There are now two large pallets in our garage… and we either have to cut one down or wait until Brian & Beth can get hold of a small one for us. This is going to happen! Will blog the process – when.
