This won’t be relevant to maybe 90% of you, but for my work’s web-site I’m after a post notification plugin i.e. you can subscribe and get sent an email each time there is a post.
I’ve tried two wordpress plugins: subscribe2 and postnotification and I can get neither to send the emails properly (or even at all).
RSS is all very well but you can’t necessarily send it via email, can you?
If you know of anything, or a work around I would greatly appreciate it.
do you know what’s stopping it from sending, you may need to change some settings on your server via the cpanel. most servers have safe guards so that websites can’t spam users
Sounds like mail server configuration issues to me. Plugins are lovely little creatures, in that they tend to just work. If two don’t work, then it’s probably you!
I’d try them on this blog and see how they fare. If they work, then I’m right!
And if all else fails… do what I do… ask Jas.

Feed Burner now does email subscription. Very customisable (well enough for what we need). Hurrah!
