Before I married Geoff, I followed the Essendon Bombers (Not very enthusiastically I must say), I never came close to getting a membership.
I’ve been to the actual footy maybe three times in my life now.
The other day Geoff, my fanatical Richmond Tigers following husband went bought me a membership. Me. For Richmond. I think it is to ensure that I come with him to games.
As a suburb I really quite like Richmond so maybe that’ll be my justification? Eh? I have to swap my red and black for yellow and black. I don’t really mind swapping loyalties, but a membership!?
Come now Rebecca, I saw that look of unmistakable joy on your face when you heard that you had a membership. And it is always a good thing for the world to have less Essendon supporters.
lol. i went the other way. from richmond to essendon. not that i really follow footy.
you traiter you
We were worried about having an Essendon supporter in the family!

Dont worry Rebecca, now you are a Richmond supporter you can jump on and off the bandwagon whenever you like.
Also, you can look forward to a new coach around August….
Mark, I’ve got to take exception with your “bandwagon” comment: we were still one of the best supported Melbourne teams last year (in terms of attendances and membership) despite putting in the worst season in the team’s history. Any supporters my age or younger have never seen a (remotely) successful Richmond side. If it was a Bandwagon, it would never have anyone on.
As for the coach: if things go like last year, they shouldn’t wait until August.
I have no doubt about your loyalty, like dockers supporters, you have not had much to cheer about….honestly cant see how Wallace has improved the side.
