In The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe C.S Lewis presents a place where it is always winter but never Christmas. The Narnia books are full of metaphor and analogy and I think of this as some kind of parallel to the Kingdom of God. Simplistic perhaps but it does sidle on up to your imagination. Relient K (the band)- whom I was quite into back when I was about 16, wrote a song on the same concept.

It’d be so nice to look out the window
And see the leaves on the trees begin to show
The birds would congregate and sing
A song of birth a song of newer things

The wind would calm and the sun would shine
I’d go outside and I’d squint my eyes
But for now I will simply just withdraw
Sit here and wish for this world to thaw

And everything it changed overnight
This dying world you brought it back to life
And deep inside I felt things shifting
Everything was melting
Away
And you gave us the most beautiful of days

Cause when it’s always winter but never Christmas
Sometimes it feels like you’re not with us
But deep inside our hearts we know
That you are here and we will not lose hope

Christianity Life

I physically stopped for this. The light was quite nice and I felt like it. Better still is when you come over this hill at night and there is a breath of Melbourne lights. Something inside stops for that whether you feel like it or not.

It’s interesting this place. If you look go a little to the right and further on a kilometre or so  you arrive at one of my ‘childhood’ homes. Behind me is the treck towards my parents place and even further infront is where we now live.

Life

I’m dealing with some interesting things with work at the moment. It is quite frustrating.

You know when you feel like you’re in the groove and suddenly the bowling ball wanders off track into the gutter. Ach. so close. Not there yet. No great misery, simply tiresome.

And, what is Posterous? A few people I know have it – is it simply another form of sharing content? I wish Google reader allowed output for specific things directly into this blog. Then I could target the shares that make it here. Currently they just all are plastered across the same rss and aren’t here at all. Besides, I have too much in Google Reader, perhaps I should cull. It is unhealthy. I like those blogs where someone shares their delightful finds, however it’s too tedious to do a re-post everytime I find something.

Blogging Life

in time of daffodils(who know
the goal of living is to grow)
forgetting why,remember how

in time of lilacs who proclaim
the aim of waking is to dream,
remember so(forgetting seem)

in time of roses(who amaze
our now and here with paradise)
forgetting if,remember yes

in time of all sweet things beyond
whatever mind may comprehend,
remember seek(forgetting find)

and in a mystery to be
(when time from time shall set us free)
forgetting me,remember me

Words

(what a wanky blog title)

Anyway I mostly want to say that, Christina is blogging again! So get your skates on and read: In and Out of Season

These are the blogs I love the most. The little insights, a little creativity, a little bit of someone. I only hope to find the energy to put some more of that back into this place.
