This post made me consider who I’d like to meet from the blogging world and these are the people that came immediately to mind.

Anne Jackson

Rebecca Monson

Makeesha Fisher

Christina Aitken (although I know her in person – a little)

Curious. Women I, in a funny old kind of way, look up to. Most of them I’ve never met. I wish there were more of ‘their kind’ around within face-face earshot.

Hmm… I never did write that post about mentoring.

Christianity Life

First jump over and read the post that made me question this.

Now the question.

Is fear (like that mentioned in the post – hope that’s okay to link to you Anna, I am in no way pointing out you are wrong or right, just interested.) a sin? Or, a symptom? Or what?

Christianity

babymother.jpgGeoff has started discussing contraception over on the geoffreport, this has sparked some decent discussion.

The long and short of it for me without having done any intense research besides a few thoughts, reading Rob Bell’s Sex God, a few other marriage books and thinking about basic practicalities, is that post-January, I/we will opt for something slightly more definite than Natural Family Planning (and whatever methods with long names fit there) for the next while.

Devoid of theological, moral or otherwise ideals, this is simply the most practical and wins the question. I have 3 more years of uni and would like some semblance of having a stab at a job in the the real world doing what I love.

I’ll/we’ll consider the ramifications of whatever ‘sin’ we’re commiting by using the pill/equivalent when it is more convenient. *Someones jaw drops at the blatant selfishness*

By the way.

*I don’t think using the pill is a sin
*I don’t want a huge number of children
*I do one day want kids
*If by some ‘accident’ I have a kid before I finish uni – so be it, I’m sure it’ll be wonderful (But it’s a scary thought)
*I am not at all adverse to looking into other ‘methods’ when it becomes a bit more suitable

If you would like to read things about childbirth/contraception/midwifery, my sister Laura writes ALL about it (Lets even put a ‘mature content’ warning on it).

Christianity Relationships

If anyone is aware of there being discussion questions around evangelism in light of the documentary Hell House can you please shoot me an email, or post a comment. Thanks.

girl.jpgOn Sunday two of our youth kids, d’Arcy and Jess got baptised! It was really encouraging, I was shell shocked by how well Jess speaks – this is a skill I could do with learning more about. Read more about it and see photos here.

Yesterday I discovered that Alex (one of my small group girls) is reading stuff by Rob Bell (This is rather exciting, but kind of freaky because she’s in Grade 6 – she’s starting to remind me of me except that I didn’t read theology books – I just read too many books long before I should’ve).

And here’s the link to Anne Jackson’s blog for Geoff (who’d forgotten it) and Christina who likes reading the few and far between well-authored Christian female blogs (Of which hers is one of – that’s me saying that).
