“Doctrine doesn’t feed the soul, love does”
What do you think about this statement?
The Progress of Normality
The purpose of doctrine is not to feed the soul, it is part of the diet of the mind.
while I’m replying to stuff 🙂 you get two replies from me today. (I hope thats nice and not irritating)
Doctrine just defines the ways in which its okay to give and receive love.
Good doctrine makes it easier.
Bad doctrine makes it harder.
Good doctrine makes it safer.
Bad doctrine either makes it too easy to do the wrong thing… or too hard to love at all.
Well… thats from the perspective of someone who’s grown up with some fantastically bad doctrine. 🙂
