Blogging Design

Wow. How’s this for blog design, it makes my own fairly standard but still quite nice (well I think so) blog look flat and like a little worm house in need of renovation…

I am please to report CS3 arrived today, has been installed and I am now just waiting on a serial number…

I wish I were more adventurous in the design arena. I claim I don’t have time, but I sat on my couch half the day, so probably do.

Blogging Design

A job somewhere like this would be the dream.

Meanwhile… I’ll go back to doing some not so exciting homework to get me closer.

I have decided lately that web-design might just be avenue of design to chase, unless of course I somehow can fluke myself into being paid to write my pretty little head out.

Oh yes, and tomorrow I am 22.

Blogging Design Words

Crikey, it’s been a long time since I’ve done this, and I’m going to pay because there are 60+ well worth going-to posts sitting in Google Reader waiting to be shared. I think I’ll should make this a monthly/bi-monthy effort. But hey, I’m on this beautiful new machine so I might as well hit the list.

To change it up a bit this time I’m going to somewhat categorise the links. As you might have guessed I do read particular types of blogs, design features up there oddly often in the shape of interiors (rather than graphics) I think it is my secret lust of pretty yet functional things. I’d love to have a house I could do anything to and the money to match. Alas I shall for the moment content myself with saliva inducing photographs. Anyway as I was saying, design isn’t probably the highlight of everyone’s day – regardless you should at least venture in to just ONE of these posts if only to expand your mind even if it constricts and flees with horror.

And that’s all for the design line up this time around, more ‘other’ coming later.

be_kind_rewind_post.jpgAfter an exceptionally busy weekend and a crashed blog server, it’s time for another tedious fill-in.

I managed to catch Michel Gondry’s new film Be Kind Rewind I confess I was disappointed in that it lacked such strangeness as the other two. I did enjoy the side comment about Citizen Kane’s weird time sequence and the mention that ‘that’s been done before’. I also enjoyed the fact that when walking out of the cinema, two old ladies were carrying a portable DVD player. Oh the irony! Despite all, it’s a fun and clever movie, I just didn’t like it quite so much as the Science of Sleep – which blew me away. Be Kind is almost too Jack Black.

Easter consisted of a ‘stations’ art/music installation at my church. We were a little rushed through but I really appreciate the launch into acknowledging and using the ‘other’ type talent around the place that is effective for the means and communal minded. It did make for good contemplation. I only wish I had longer. My little sister had two pieces in the exhibition and apparently someone has offered to buy them… I’ve been at her to sell her artwork, so perhaps now she’ll pay attention.

And yesterday was Anne’s (Geoff’s mum) birthday, so we went around there and typically ate too much roast dinner, saw the Grandparents and played Settlers, Blokus etc.

It’s been a tough year to stop enough to remember Jesus over this period. I think I need to do something about that.

In other news, Soul Survivor is coming up this week, and I really, really need to apply for a passport for June’s endeavor of returning to my childhood.
