Month: November 2008

coffeecup1Since our honeymoon, back in January, Geoff and I have been casually searching for these round double layer bodum latte glasses. We were first introduced to them at Hahndorf Hill Winery after an exceptional meal and probably the best wine I’ve ever tasted (White Mischief), so the appeal is part memory, part design lust.

Yesterday I finally found them at Wheel & Barrow, after I braved the new Doncaster Westfield. They were tad pricey but a little too pretty to resist.

The verdict on the glasses is good, the verdict on Doncaster is that it’s far too showy and self important. I’d only return for the paper shop, the rest is somewhat ridiculous and I didn’t enjoy the experience.

Coffee Culture Holidays

dickensHad very nice lunch out with Sam and while we were wandering, managed to bungle a few op-shops. I naturally found myself some books. The Christmas Books-Volume Two by Charles Dickens (includes: The Cricket on the Hearth, The Battle of Life and The Haunted Man) and a very nice new-looking copy of The Map That Changed the World by Simon Winchester.

As I we progress into the ever nearing holiday season I intend to get the reading count up. I am currently well engrossed in Margret Atwood’s The Blind Assassin, and I’m afraid will probably jump at anything Atwood that comes my way, it’s beautiful, beautiful stuff. Amongst the fiction, I have to spare some space for the ever backlogged Coffee House Theology and the numerous others that I must read.

For the last few years I have been tracking what I read on All Consuming. I’m not sure why I keep using it, because it is aesthetically appalling, but does seem to do the trick. Is there anything else out there – nicer but just as functional?

Books Op Shop

Well the holidays hit and the blog rev turns instead to a grunting stall.

Monday night went something like this: Okay, I feel a bit odd but I might go to Blair and Kyla’s Christmas craft night, because it’s a bit different and could be fun… 15mins after Geoff drops me there, I throw up in toilet. I get Laura to take me home and subsequently spend the rest of the evening throwing up/the other side of the story, not getting much sleep and generally sick.

Tuesday I coped, slept and worked (?weird but true) and didn’t chuck until after dinner, post some stupid food choices.

It is now Wednesday and I was almost convinced I was better this morning, but have since spent a good part of the day in bed in front of a movie.

At least while I survive on salada’s and powerade, there are some interesting blog related ideas brewing with a few friends of mine. And now I have to go to a branding meeting.

Blogging Life

Oh the innovation!

Ployvore is glorious!

I’ve never been one of great skill with fashion as I cannot usually bring myself to spend the $’s it often needs, nor do I seem to have the ultimate knack. But this is a collage making tool. And a tool that lets you share them after you’ve created them. AND then lets those who browse, click on each item to take you to exactly where they’ve found the image. This is equivalent to endless inspiration! Stunning colour combinations and plenty of drool.

Go and drool and then come back and share your inspiration.

I am done! Done with homework, done with 2nd year uni forever!

To celebrate, I am handing out gifts.

Here are the gifts.

I’ve not done this kind of thing before on here, but $500 goal is a very small amount in the scheme of things, and $5 or $20 is even less. Tear do some great work and the people behind it are guns – besides being brilliant and inspirational. And yes I can verify that because know many of them in person.
